Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently convert UF6 into U oxide at a low cost by carrying out the oxidation of UF6, the concn. of the produced oxide and the deposition of solid oxide while using 3 water ejectors.
CONSTITUTION: Gaseous UF6 from a gaseous UF6 generator 1 is continuously sucked with a water ejector 7 through a change-over and shut-off valve and converted into U oxide (UO2F2) by reaction with water. This liq. reaction product is fed to a vacuum evaporator 8 and evaporated. The vapor is sucked with a water ejector 10 to remove HF by-produced when the UO2F2 is produced. At this time, the ejector 10 sucks and evaporates water together with the HF, so the UO2F2 in the liq. reaction product is concd. The product with high UO2F2 concn. is shifted from the evaporator 8 to containers 18, 19 for storage and transportation, and by sucking and evaporating water with a water ejector 20, solid UO2F2 is deposited and recovered.
