Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an engine braking effect by increasing the clutch torque proportionally to an engine rotating speed and varying it in response to the variation in the idling speed when the idling speed varies.
CONSTITUTION: When an accelerator is depressed from stopping state to produce an H signal from a detector 46 to an AND gate 50, a pulse wave is applied to a transmission 52 via an OR gate 51, thereby obtaining a coil 17 current proportional to the rotating speed. When a vehicle is gradually accelerated by the sliding operation so that the rotating speed becomes N1, a detector 48 outputs an H signal to an OR gate 51, and the coil 7 current becomes a rated value Im, and the clutch is thus engaged. It is still maintained even if the rotating speed becomes lower than the N1. When the speed becomes N2 in the engine brake state, it is released. When the idling speed becomes high, its connection or disconnection setting speed is altered to prevent the engine stop.
