Abstract

PURPOSE: To attain the improvement of drivability in a slope by discriminating a slope steeper than a fixed value on the basis of the detected signal from a running slope detector provided in a car for the porpose of releasing the overdrive of a transmission gear.
CONSTITUTION: This device is constructed of a rotational frequency detector 10 to detect the running speed of an automobile, a speed-changing solenoid valve unit 40, an overdrive solenoid 41, a running road slope detector 60, and others. A speed- change control circuit 100 is used to generate a drive signal to drive the solenoid valve 40 at a previously fixed speed-changing point on the basis of various signals for controlling speed-changing automatically, and provided with an overdrive- releasing circuit 110 in addition to the speed-changing system. Besides, a timing circuit 70 is inserted between the detector 60 and the circuit 110. This construction permits to obtain an automatic function to release the overdrive in a slope and improve the drivability in an ascending or an descending slope to which conventional devices cannot be adapted.
