Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled adhesive which makes it possible to carry out fitting of electronic parts at a temp. lower than conventional soldering temperature, by adding needle-like electrically conductive magnetic powder to a photo- curable resin, orientating the magnetic powder in the direction of an applied magnetic field and irradiating the mixture with ultraviolet light.
CONSTITUTION: Needle-like electrically conductive magnetic powder (e.g. obtd. by plating the surface of non-conductive magnetic powder such as Fe, Co, Ni, alloys thereof or γ-Fe2O3 with Au, Ag, Cu or Ni) is added to a photo-curable resin. While applying magnetic field to the mixture, the magnetic powder is orientated in the direction of said magnetic field. Then the mixture is irradiated with ultraviolet light to cure the photo-curable resin, whereby an anisotropic electrically condutive adhesive is obtd. which has good electrical conductivity in the direction of the magnetic field and does not exhibit electrical conductivity in the direction of a plane falling at right angles therewith. It is preferred to use a peroxide such as dicumyl peroxide as a photo-curing catalyst together with benzoin isopropyl ether, benzophenone, etc.
