NEW MATERIAL:A compound of the formula (R1WR3 are 1W3C alkyl; X is Cl, Br, I).
USE: Bactericide, antibacterial, herbicide.
PREPARATION: In general, equimolar amounts of 3-halopentafluoro-1-propene and a trialkylamine are used to effect the reaction at 0W40°C to give the compound of the formula. Pentafluoroallyl trialkyl ammonium bromide is obtained by reaction of pentafluoroallyl trialkyl ammonium chloride with hydrogen bromide at room temperature.
