Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the withstand voltage between disc-shaped coils by setting the longitudinal size of a spacer smaller by approx. 1/2 of the inner and outer diameters of the coils. CONSTITUTION:A copper wire 12 of flat rectangular section wouned with kraft paper insulating tape 10 is spirally wound to form a disc-shaped section coil 14, and a spacer 16 made of insulator such as pressed board is inserted into the radial direction of the assembly of the coils 14. With this structure, the longitudinal size of the spacer 16 is not increased more than the width of the assembly of the coils 14, but is decreased smaller by approx. 1/2 than the inner and outer diameters of the coils 14 arranged at upper and lower positions. Further, collar members 18 projected from the assembly of the coils 14 are inserted to both upper and lower surfaces of the spacer 16. Thus, the wedged oil gap (g) produced at the inner and outer peripheral ends of the coil 14 exist only in the boundary between the collar member 18 and the coil 14, thereby decreasing the concentration of the electric field in the oil.
