Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the yield and to reduce the C content after sintering by compacting Mo powder contg. an org. binder, heating the green compact at a specified temp. in an inert or reducing atmosphere for a specified time, and sintering the heated compact at a specified temp. for a specified time.
CONSTITUTION: To Mo powder having about 1W3μm average particle size is added an org. binder consisting of acrylic resin and a volatile solvent, and they are mixed and agitated with a mixer to coat the Mo powder with the acrylic resin as well as to volatilize the solvent. Trichlene or the like is used as the volatile solvent. The coated Mo powder is compressed, heated at 1000W1500°C in an inert or reducing atmosphere for 0.5W2hr, and sintered by heating at 1800W1900°C for 3W7hr.
