Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a transmitter which simplifies the addition and separation of a pilot signal, by forming a data lacking period by compressing the time axis of a PCM signal and putting in the pilot signal within the data lacking period. CONSTITUTION:An audio signal receives the PCM modulation through a preemphasis circuit 3, an amplifier 4, a low pass filter 5, a sample holding circuit 6 and an A/D converter 7 respectively. Such PCM signal is supplied to a time axis compressing circuit 9 to turn a data lacking period into a signal. The output of the circuit 9 is supplied to a pilot signal adding circuit 11 via a CRC encoder 10. The pilot signal is applied in the data lacking period and only when the preemphasis is applied to the input audio signal. The output of the circuit 11 is supplied to a record signal input terminal of a VTR1 via a synchronous signal mixing circuit 12.
