Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R is H or acyl).
EXAMPLE: 2"-[{[(2-Chloroethyl)nitrosoamino]carbonyl}amino]-2"-deoxygentianose.
USE: An antileukemic agent and antitumor agent having very little side effects, e.g. pancreatic atrophy.
PROCESS: 1',2,3,3',4,4',6'-Hepta-O-acetylsucrose is reacted with a 3,4,6-tri-O-acetyl- 2-(benzyloxycarbonyl)amino-2-deoxy-α-D-glucopyranosyl bromide, and the resultant product is deacetylated and catalytically reduced with palladium black, etc. to give a ureido derivative of gentianose expressed by formula II, which is then nitrosated with sodium nitrite to afford the compound expressed by formula I.
