Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the relaxing of the limitation of the number of continuous copying sheets owing to the deficiency of electric power possible by controlling the rotating speed of a fixing roller in response to circumferential surface temps. CONSTITUTION:The surface temp. of a fixing roller 1 is detected with a temp. sensor 5, and is compared with plural set values in a comparator 6. In response to the drop in the surface temp. of the roller 1, the rotating speed of the roller 1 is so controlled as to lower by a driving circuit 8. Thereby, the nip time of copying paper is changed over so as to increase according to the drop in the circumferential surface temp. of the roller 1. Hence, the limitation of the number of continuous copying sheets owing to the deficiency of electric power is relaxed as compared to that in the case of a constant time nip system.
