PURPOSE:To relax the limitation of the number of continuous copying sheets owing to the deficiency of electric power by controlling the pressure between a fixing roller and a pressurizing roller according to the drop of the circumferential surface temp. of the fixing roller. CONSTITUTION:The value detecting the circumferential surface temp. of a fixing roller 1 by a temp. sensor 5 is compared with plural set values in a comparator 6, and the turning position of an eccentric cam 10 is controlled by a driving circuit 8. Thereby, the press-contacting force between the roller 1 and a pressurizing roller 2 is increased stepwise according to the drop of the circumferential surface temp. of the roller 1, and the nip time of copying paper is increased. As a result, the limitation of the number of continuous copying sheets owing to the deficiency of electric power is relaxed as compared to that in a system wherein the nip time is constant.
