Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to judge the quality of a casted products by means of matching between projected parts of detecting pieces installed to the surface of the casted product, by molding after detecting pieces are attached to the outside of the fitting surfaces of the upper mold and the lower mold of a wooden pattern or a model, and by performing castings after making a depressed section in the molded part.
CONSTITUTION: The thin detecting pieces 3a are fixed to the central part of the front and back side surfaces of a lower wooden pattern or a lower model 1a made of a synthetic resin or aluminium. Both side surfaces are used as reference surfaces when the lower model and the upper model are fitted together. Moreover, the similar detecting pieces 3b are also fixed to both end surfaces of an upper wooden pattern or an upper model 2a. These end surfaces are also used as the reference surface. Then a molding is performed by using the upper wooden pattern or the upper model 2a and the lower wooden pattern or the lower model 1a, and depressed parts due to the detecting pieces 3a and 3b are formed on the inner surface of the molded mold. When castings are performed by fitting the upper and lower molds together, projected parts 3a' and 3b' are formed at the front and rear sides of the product. Locations of the projected parts 3a' and 3b' correspond to locations of detecting pieces 3a and 3b. Therefore, when there is a mold shift between the upper and lower molds, the upper and lower projected parts 3a' and 3b' do not coinside with each other and deviate either leftward or rightward.
