Abstract
PURPOSE:To form the metal mold inscribed on the face which can automatically separate a gate during taking-out of a product, even when a thin-wall molded article is produced, by arranging a side core slidably in a lower metal mold part, and forming a gate in the side core which communicates a runner to a cavity. CONSTITUTION:A metal mold 1 is constructed by an upper metal mold part 1a provided with a sprue 15 and a runner 5 and a lower metl mold part 1b provided with a cavity 8 and a side core-receiving part 2 having a convex cross section. A side core 3 provided with a gate 10, through which a finger pin 16 passes, is arranged slidably in the receiving part 2. The upper metal mold part 1a is clamped, and a resin is injected and cured. Thereafter, the upper and lower metal mold parts 1a, 1b are separated at their connection plane. At this time, the side core 3 is slided in the receiving portion 2 by the operation of the finger pin 16, so that the gate 10 is detached from the cavity 8 and the runner 5 at resin-injecting openings 9 and 6, respectively. Consequently, a product in the cavity 8 is separated from the resin in the gate 10.
