Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily recover ammonium thiocyanate by wet oxidizing waste liquor discharged by the wet desulfurization of coke oven gas, concentrating the liquor to make a state close to the saturation point of ammonium thiocyanate, and crystallizing ammonium sulfate.
CONSTITUTION: Desulfurization waste liquor is decolored with activated carbon, and oxygen is blown into the liquor at ≤ about 200°C in a weakly acidic W akaline region to convert ammonium thiosulfate in the liquor into ammonium sulfate. The liquor is then concd. and/or cooled to make a state close to the saturation point of ammonium thiocyanate. As a result, ammonium sulfate is crystallized from the system in large quantities owing to the solubility difference, and by carrying out filtration, ammonium thiocyanate can be recovered by about 90W95%.
