PURPOSE: To remove SOx efficiently and recover gypsum with a high quality, by contacting exhaust gas in the presence of O2 with an absorbing liq. of a specified pH contg. succinic acid component, sulfuric acid component and Mg component absorb SOx, oxidizing it, adding lime to a part of the soln. removed to produce gypsum, separating gypsum, and recirculating mother liquor to the absorbing process.
