This input device 1 is provided with a buffer memory storing one page's share of the video information and a counter designating the write-in of the buffer memory. When the information for one page's share of the original of minimum size is read, the set value set under the count value of the counter is stored in a storage section and the end of write-in for one page's share of the original is discriminated. At the end of write-in, the count value of a counter and the set value are compares, and if the count value of the counter is smaller than the set value, it is informed to the operator to prevent write-in in error.
