Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of the magnetic force of permanent magnet due to high temperatures and eliminate bad influence on it due to the adherence of splash by a method by cooling the permanent magnet and a jacket case itself by a coolant being flowed in the jacket case. CONSTITUTION:A metal strip 1 to be plated is introduced into a hot galvanizing bath 2 and pulled out vertically and continuously through the sink roll of a continuous feeder. The metal strip 1 pulled out of the bath 2 is controlled for the amount of hot galvanized metal adhered to its surface by means of an uniform jet stream of a gas flowed in the widthwise direction from the paired nozles 5 of a gas wiper 4. In the neighborhood of the gas wiper 4, a pair of magnet devices 6 are provided in proximity of the both side edge portions 1A of the metal strip 1 in order to prevent the deflection of the metal strip 1. In a magnetism absorber device 6 consisting of a jacket case 7 and a permanent magnet 8 inside the case 7, a coolant is flowed in the jacket case 7 through a coolant entrance 9 provided in the jacket case 7 for cooling the permanent magnet 8 and the jacket case 7 body.
