Abstract
PURPOSE: To extract and recover valuable metal in the manganese nodule at low and readily by leaching manganese nodule in mineral acid under the existence of carbon and ammonium salt.
CONSTITUTION: Manganese nodule is leached by mineral acid, e.g. Ca 0.5W10mol/ l sulfuric acid etc. under the existence of carbon, e.g. acetylene balck, coke powder etc., ammonium salt, e.g. NH4Cl and chloride, e.g. NaCl. By this, Mn and Fe matrix of manganese nodule is destroyed and valuable metal such as Ni, Co, Cu, etc. existing in its is extracted. Each valuable component is separated by the well- known method from the extracted solution. Over 90% to nearly 100% of valuable components is extracted by this method.
