Abstract

PURPOSE: Potassium titanate fibers are suspended in an aqueous plyvinyl alcohol by a specific amount and the PVA is acetalized in the presence of pore-foaming agent to produce the titled porous substance collecting fumings in high rate with less pressure loss.
CONSTITUTION: In (A) an aqueous solution of PVA, preferably of 500W3,000 polymerization degree and more than 80mol% saponification degree, (B) 5W200wt% of potassium titanate or its hydrate of K2O.nTiO2 (n is 4W8) is suspended and (C) a pore-forming agent such as starch is added, then they are uniformly mixed.
