Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a temp. drop of molten steel due to by heat transmission only with the aid of local heating, or by heating so as to reduce an electric power consumption, by forming a resistance-heating layer in one body in the inside circumferential direction of a charging nozzle. CONSTITUTION:When electric current is applied to a resistance-heating layer 2 from a heating electric source 4 through a lead wire 3, the layer 2 is heated to heat a main nozzle body 1. By this heating, temp. drop of molten metal passing through the inside of the nozzle 1 is prevented owing to heat transmission. Accordingly, troubles such as a solidification of the molten metal in the inside of nozzle by the temp. drop of the metal during casting, that cause a casting impossible, are prevented. As the resistance-heating layer 2, on kind or mixed materials of several kinds of a metallic resistance-heating body, a cermet resistance heating body, etc. are formed into a rod- or plate-shaped body, etc., and are embedded in the main body 1 in one body.
