Abstract
PURPOSE: To save the amount of flocculant to be added to make-up water, by filtering circulating water containing a cooling-water treating agent and make-up water without containing said agent separately by using a single filtering tower.
CONSTITUTION: From an injecting line 8', a cooling-water treating agent is injected into circulating cooling water 1' stored in a water tank 6' at the lower part of a cooling tower. Next, a part of the cooling water 1' is taken out from the tank 6' to a filtering line 9', and is fed to the upper part of the filtering tower 11' to pass through it in order to remove turbid substances. At the same time, flocculant is injected into make-up water supplied from a make-up water line 7 to remove the turbid substance in the rising flow of said water fed from the bottom of the tower 11', and then the water is gathered together with said filtered water into a collector 15. Accordingly, the floc formation of the make-up water is not disturbed by the cooling-water treating agent, and the amount of the flocculant is saved.
