Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the solid-liquid separation and reduce the concn. of zinc to an acceptable value or less by a method wherein, after the separation of a floated oil of a zinc photoengraving waste liquid, the ratio of NH4NO3 to Zn in the waste liquid is adjusted and said waste liquid is neutralized continuously while the PH thereof is held to a specific value by adding an alkali agent.
CONSTITUTION: After a zinc photoengraving waste water is allowed to stand and a floated oil is separated, when the ratio of NH3NO3/Zn is relatively high, the waste liquid is diluted to lower a concn. of zinc, or zinc salt or an oxidizing agent is added to the waste liquid to lower the ratio of NH3NO3/Zn by decomposing a portion of NH3NO3. After said treatment, said waste water is continuously flowed into a reaction tank filled with water warmed to about 50°C at a constant speed and, at the same time, a liquid alkali agent is supplied to hold the pH value in the tank at 8W 10. Then, the precipitate of formed zinc is continuously exhausted from a flooding port. Because said precipitate has large particle size and the precipitating speed thereof is high, said precipitate is filtered continuously and naturally.
