Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent any volume expansion of a lead battery which might be caused due to corrosion products, and increase the life of the battery by using a grid prepared by expanding a lead-calcium system alloy sheet containing each given amount of calcium, tin, aluminum and silver respectively. CONSTITUTION:A lead-calcium system alloy sheet consisting of, 0.02-0.15wt% of calcium, 0.05-0.25wt% of tin, 0-0.05wt% of aluminum 0-0.3wt% of silver and the wt% of lead, is given slits by means of a rotary cutter, and is expanded. After that, the expanded alloy sheet is punched into a given shape of a plate for obtaining a grid.
