Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable efficient operation without wasteful running of the compressor and to extend its life by providing a means to have part of the discharge valves among multiple number of the same displaced to the open position and normal position.
CONSTITUTION: A valve retainer 43 and a spool 44 are integrally joined to a dis- charge valve 41 which is arranged at a discharge port 37, spring 50 holding said dis- charge valve constantly at the open position, a pressure introduction port 53 to introduce the pressure to the backside of the spool 44 being provided at the center of a rear housing 6 and being connected to a discharge flange 28 via the first solenoid valve 54 and being also connected to a suction flange via the second solenoid valve 56 thereby enabling the displacement of the discharge valve 41 to the open position and the normal closed position to incrementally change over the refrigerator capacity according to the cooling load thus accomplishing efficient operation of the refrigerator without wasteful running and eliminating the ON-OFF operation of a clutch at low load for extended life.
