Abstract
PURPOSE:To use a tubular conductor layer of pressure-tight structure for communication by protecting the circumference of a center optical fiber assembly by a pressure-tight internal conductor pipe, and by covering it with an insulator of PE, an external conductor layer and a sheath PE layer. CONSTITUTION:Around a center tensile-strength body 8, several optical fiber units 9 each obtained by assembling or stranding several optical fiber cores are assembled or stranded and the section is made circular by an interposing buffer layer 10. The obtained body is covered with a buffer PEF layer or a PE layer 11, on which a copper tape is provided longitudinally and welded at its edge seam to form an internal conductor 12 serving as a pressure-tight pipe; and an insulator 13 of PE, an external conductor layer 14 and an external PE layer 4 are formed around the conductor 12. Further, grounding yarn 5, tensile-strength wires and protective PP yarn 7 are laminated on it successively. Thus, an optical communication system, and a coaxial-cable communication system by the pressure-tight internal conductor, PE insulator and external conductor are both realized.
