Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce an engine crankshaft to light weight, and to improve it strength and facilitate manufacturing it by forming an indentation of a fixed size at a specific position of a coupling part of a pin part with a crankweb, and a hollow part with a predetermined diameter in the pin part along the direction of a crankshaft with a crankshaft casting sandmold simultaneously.
CONSTITUTION: A web surface S adjacent to a pin part 3 that is near a center line P1 of a crankshaft in a coupling part of the pin part 3 and a crankweb 2 is provided with an indented part A having a depth l which is 0.2W0.5 times of the outside dia. Thus, an engine crankshaft which is light and improved in its strength can be easily manufactured.
