Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a highly stereoregular polyolefin, by using a catalyst composed of a Ti compound, etc. supported on a solid material obtained by the cocrushing of a specific organic Mg compound and a phosphorus compound, in combination with an organometallic compound and an organic acid ester.
CONSTITUTION: A solid material obtained by the cocrushing of 1mol of an organic Mg compound of formula RMgX[R is 6W24C aryl (derivative)]e.g. C6H5MgCl and pref. 0.1W10mol of a phosphorus compound selected from phosphorus halide (e.g. PCl5) and phosphorus oxyhalide (e.g. POCl3), is used as a carrier for supporting a Ti compound and/or an addition compound of a Ti compound (e.g. TiCl4) and an organic acid ester (e.g. ethyl benzoate) wherein the amount of the Ti compound in the solid product is pref. 1W10wt%. The catalyst is used in combination with an organometallic compound such as triethyl Al and an organic acid ester for the (co)polymerization of olefins.
