NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formulaI(R is 2-trifluoromethylthioacetic acid, 2-cyano-methylthioacetic acid, 2-chloroacetic acid, 2-thienylacetic acid, 2-thienyl-2- (N-methyl-N-benzoxyaminocarbamoyl)acetic acid, 3-hydroxy-4-amino-1,2-thiazol- 5-yl-thioacetic acid, or protected compound thereof).
USE: An acylating agent for amines or hydrazines. Useful esp. as an active ester for the synthesis of cephalosporin compound for pharmaceutical use.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIis prepared by reacting a compound of formula II or its derivative with 2-trifluoromethylthioacetic acid or its derivative, etc. in a solvent such as dioxane, acetone, chloroform, etc. at -W+50°C.
