Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the removal of a core mold from a thick-walled hollow cylindrical molded article which is injection molded, by composing the core mold of three segments each of which has a trapezoidal cross-sectional shape and three segments each of which is fan-shaped in cross section. CONSTITUTION:In the case of producing a thick-walled hollow cylindrical molded article 50 such as a valve main body for water-works or the like, the orthogonal part 53 of orthogonally intersecting pipes 51, 52 has an aperture larger than the inside diameters of the pipes 51, 52, and a split type core mold is used for the molding thereof. The core mold is composed of three segments 16 each of which is trapezoidal in cross section, three segments 17 eacn of which is fan-shaped in cross section and a core rod 11. The core rod 11 is rigidly fitted to a central part of a movable mold plate 10, while movable pins 12 and other movable pins 13 are rigidly fitted to the plate 10 in such a manner as to surround the core rod 11.
