Abstract
PURPOSE:To cast composite rolls formed with both insie and outside shell layers perfectly in one body by casting the molten metal for the outside shell layer in a mold then turning the mold cover to discharge the unsolidified part and again casting the molten metal into the cavity discharged of said part. CONSTITUTION:A mold 21 is held with a casting and discharging outlet 29 located in upper position, and when molten metal 31 for forming the outside shell layer of a roll is filled in a body 21, the molten metal 31 contacting with the molding part 21a of the roll body part is quickly cooled to solidify.
