Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the titled constitution by adding a function for compressing a level ratio of received waveforms in a pulse radar type fault point determining device, reducing the capacity of digital memory, and reducing the number of component elements. CONSTITUTION:The reflected wave containing fault information from the fault point in a transmission line is introduced to a compressing circuit 10 through a terminal 11. The reflected wave whose voltage range is 2,500-12.5V is inputted to said compressing circuit 10, and it is compressed to 14.5-0.6V in a exponential function circuit. After the rectification, the voltage is divided, and the output voltage of 4.0-0.2V is applied to an A/D converter 6. The digital voltage value obtained in said circuit 6 is stored in a digital memory circuit 7. In a digital memory circuit 8, the state of the normal reflected wave is stored. The outputs of the reflected waveforms of said circuit 8 and said circuit 7 are added to a waveform comparator 9, and the faulty waveform and the mornal waveform are compared with each other. The output of the comparison is sent to a range counter 13 as the fault point data, and the range to the fault point is determined.
