Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform an easy measurement of a high-precise ultrasonic power, by moving a stand whereon a power source and a light detector, which form a light beam diffraction light in the direction of an ultrasonic radiation to underwater for a purpose of inspecting an ultrasonic flaw detecting probe. CONSTITUTION:A reflection mirror 10 reflects a laser beam diffraction light through a power source 5 and a light detector 7 which are placed on the same stand 9. Detection is made on a change in the laser beam diffraction light corresponding to an ultrasonic power from a flaw detecting probe 1 for ultrasonic wave radiated into water 3 in a water tank 2. The stand 9 is positioned so that it can freely move in the radiation direction of the ultrasonic wave from the flaw detecting probe 1 through the working of an elevating mechanism 14, and the ultrasonic power rang- ing over a wide scope is measured at a better reproducibility at a large number of points. As a result, the easy and reliable measurement of the high-precise ultrasonic power permits the inspection of the ultrasonic flaw detecting probe.
