Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a uniform hollow glass article preventing the increase of the internal pressure of the article during blowing and the supercooling of the upper part and the body part of the article, by thrusting the blasting nozzle of the blowing air into a parison to a sufficient depth.
CONSTITUTION: The parison 16 is clamped at the neck part with the lower end of the sleeve 6 and the catch 8, and rotated to the direction of the arrow by the rotation of the pinion 5 while keeping the base mold 13 opened. As the rotating parison 16 begins to sag, the mold 13 is closed immediately, and the blow head 10 is lowered until the head 10 touches the upper end of the sleeve 6 to complete the sealing of the parison. As the diameter of the exhaust port 12 is smaller than that of the blasting nozzle 20, the internal pressure of the parison becomes higher than the atmospheric pressure by blowing air, and the parison begins to expand. When the surface of the glass begins to harden slightly, the blasting air pressure is further increased to improve the precision of the outer shape of the article.
