Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a glass article having a film base and a narrow stem, and having smooth surface, by applying rotational force to the upper and the lower ends a parison to be charged into a finishing mould, with a synchronously rotating neck- ring and the bottom part of a nonsplittable mould.
CONSTITUTION: A glass parison 24 prepared in a parison mould and having a heavy glass block at its lower end is introduced into finishing moulds 25a and 25b through a neck-ring 26 by opening the parison mold. The parison 24 is suspended in the opened finishing mould 25 with the neck-ring 26, and the spherical lower end of the parison is dangled in the lower cavity 32 of the finishing mould 25, which is then closed while rotating the parison 24 with the neck-ring 26 by rotational blow molding process and introducing blowing air into the parison through the neck-ring 26. At the same time, the bottom end of the parison 24 is pressed with a nonsplittable bottom mould 27 which is lifted along the axis of the parison 24 while being rotated to the same direction at the same speed as the rotation of the neck-ring 26.
