Abstract
PURPOSE: When a hollow glass ware is formed by the mold blowing, the bottom tool and the driving rod for rotating the bottom tool are connected with an Oldham's coupling to make the rotation axis of the bottom tool coincide with the vertical center line of the blowing mold, thus preventing the formation of defective hollow glass wares.
CONSTITUTION: The glass parison 1 hung with the neck ring 2 in the blowing mold 3 is supported with the bottom tool 4 fitted to the bottom opening of the blowing mold 3 and blow molded into a hollow glass ware, as the neck ring 2 and the bottom tool 4 are being rotated in the same direction wherein an Oldham's coupling that is composed of the disk for setting the bottom tool 6, the disk 7 and the disk 8 with a projection, of which each has projections or grooves to fit to each other, and is covered with the cylinder 9, is set between the bottom tool 4 and the driving rod 5 for rotating the tool to enable the bottom tool 4 to rotate always around the vertical center line of the blowing mold 3. Thus, the molded hollow glass wares are prevented from forming difectives such as causing parallel patterns on the side wall or uneven wall thickness.
