Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase gas concn., shorten hardening time and prevent gas leakage by mixing an amine soln. with suction air and gasifying the same in hardening the molding sand contg. a gas hardenable binder by means of a gas. CONSTITUTION:A cock 47 is rotated by turning a handle 51 to allow the amine soln. in a recess 49 to flow down onto the top surface of a shield plate 30 so that it is percorated uniformly in a sponge member 28. When negative pressure is developed in a chamber 16 by the operation of a vacuum pump, a valve 27 is forced downward to communicate upper, lower chambers 16, 17. Further, negative pressure is developed in an air lead-in path 34 through the member 28, a gas mixing chamber 35, and a communicating port 37, by which a valve 46 is forced downward to communicate with the atmosphere. Air enters the chamber 35 through the path 34, and while it is sucked together with the amine soln. percorated in the member 28, it forms gaseous mixture. The gaseous mixture flows through a suction hole 21 and contacts the molding sand in the molding flask provided in the lower part, thereby hardening the sand.
