Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve optical wavelength multiplex transmission with small size and low cost, by forming the shape of one end of optical fiber with solpe, providing an interference filter film on a sloped plane, and providing light emission an d photodetection means of the wavelength of light fully reflected and transmiited on and through this film. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of an optical fiber 17 show a shape of 45 deg. slope to optical fiber axies, and the surface is polished. Interferece films 16, 20 are provided on the sloped plane, the light in wavelength lambda1 is fully reflected and the light in wavelength lambda2 is transmitted. A light emitting element 14 producing the light in wavelength lambda1 is provided orthogonally to the axis of the fiber 17 and a light emitting element 15 producing the light in wavelength lambda2 is provided in parallel with the axis of the fiber 17. At the reception section, a photodetector 18 receiving the light in wavelength lambda1 fully reflected on the film 20 is provided orthogonally to the axis of the fiber 17, and a photodetector 19 receiving the light in wavelength lambda2 transmitting the film 20 is provided in parallel with the axis of the fiber 17.
