Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent generation of cracks by a thermal stress by a method wherein multi-thread screw is formed in a pump shaft of a nuclear reactor recirculation pump and a disturbance of mixing of a low temperature purge water with a high temperature reactor water at an outlet of a labyrinth between the pump shaft and the pump casing.
CONSTITUTION: A nuclear reactor recirculation pump is constructed such that a casing 3 is arranged at an outer circumference of a vane wheel 2 fixed to a pump shaft 1 and a casing cover 4 is fixed to the top part of the casing 3. Between the casing 3 and the pump shaft 1 is arranged a pump bearing 5, and a journal member 8 is arranged in the bearing 5. In this case, multi-thread screw 30 is formed at a part corresponding to the casing cover 4 for the pump shaft 1, and at same time a groove 31 is formed at the inner surface of the casing cover 4. Low temperature purge water 18 is whirled at the outelt of the multi-thread screw 30 by the revolution of the pump shaft 1, mixed with a high temperature reactor water 19 to decrease a variation of temperature caused by a mixing of two kinds of fluid.
