Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a meter with a simple construction and enabling prevention of the deterioration in the bearing for supporting the impeller by arranging the impeller in the flow passage, the radiating chamber isolated from the passage and the bearing in the radiating chamber.
CONSTITUTION: Steam flows through an inflow pipe 1, a connection pipe 2 and a slant pipe 3 inclined at 45°, while it is evenly introduced to the slant pipe 2 equipped with a plurality of deflectors 4 inside the connection pipe 2. The steam is resuced at a rectifying throttle section 5 and hits blades 7 thereby rotating an impeller 6. A pickup coil 11 magnetically checks the number of blades 7 exposed to the steam to detect the rotational frequency of the impeller. The radiating chamber 17 and 18 supporting the shaft 9 and thrust bearings 20 and 21. As the steam rectified rotates the impeller 6, the volumic flow rate of the steam can be determined from the rotational frequency while the bearing is free from damage in the construction.
