Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate starting of an internal combustion engine even under the circumstances that carbon or other foreign matter is attached to an ignition plug or that the battery voltage is lowered, by judging whether the engine starting is easy or difficult through detection of the time period for current supply to a starting motor at the time of starting the engine, and advancing the timing of starting impression of high voltage when engine starting is difficult. CONSTITUTION:A distributor signal generating section 1 includes a first and a second magnet detectors 13, 14. The first detector 13 produces a waveform at the end of continous ignition in synchronism with the crank angle while the second detector 14 produces signals relating to a first and a second ignition starting positions. These signals are afforded to an ignition timing controlling circuit 3 together with a signal representing current supply to a starting motor 2. The above control circuit 3 consists of a timer 38, a cunter 39 with a decoder, FF circuits 40, 41 etc. It detects the time period of current supply to the starting motor 2 and advances the timing for starting impression of high voltage to an ignition plug 6 relative to the ordinary timing in case that the above-mentioned time period exceeds a set value.
