Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an engine trouble, by detecting the ignition by a heat point that cannot be controlled by spark discharge so that the ignition timing is retarded. CONSTITUTION:The ignition timing controlling apparatus 100 is provided which includes an astable multivibrator 1 for outputting sampling pulses, a bi-stable multivibrator 2 for generating pulses for detecting the revolutional frequency of the engine, a monostable multivibrator 4 for outputting pulses for setting a delay angle of the ignition advance angle, a voltage comparator 6 for detecting an ion current resulted from the ignition, AND circuits 5, 8, 11, etc. The spark discharge timings are delayed with a prescribed period for a certain period, within this delayed period the ion current that has been generated in the ignition circuit by the ignition is detected, and when the ion current has occurred, the ignition period is delayed, and according to the shortened amount of the delay of the ignition, the length of the delay of the spark discharge timing is varied.
