Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Starting coal for coke is prepared by combining (A) 40W60% molded coal in which the content of low-quality coal is lowered by more than 10wt% than that of low-quality coal in the composition of the molded coal that gives coke of the same strength as the coke formed from usual coal composition and water content is less than 4% with (B) 60W40% coal composition of less than 4% water content consisting of more than 80% bituminous coal and less than 20% low-quality coal and is subjected to dry distillation in a coke furnace to produce the objective coke for blast furnace.
