Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove the deposited material of an electrode near an electron beam passing hole by applying specified voltage to each electrode, removing the electron beam from a cathode in defocussing status, accelerating this, and making it collide against the G2 electrode surface. CONSTITUTION:4-5kV middle and high voltages are applied to the G4 electrode 1 and the G3 electrode 2 of an electron gun frame which is sealed in the neck tube of a color cathode-ray tube and 400-500V low voltages are applied to the G2 electrode 3. Besides, the G1 electrode 4 and a cathode 5 are grounded and an approximately 9V ac power supply is connected a heater 6. An electron beam is emitted from the cathode 4 and foreign matters, such as deposited materials are removed by making its part collide against the vicinity of the electron beam passing hole of the G2 electrode 3 and the G1 electrode 4. Thus by removing the electron beam in defocussing status, the vicinity of the electron beam passing hole can be cleaned, the generation source of stray emission be eliminated, and the characteristics of withstand voltage sharply be improved.
