Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve excellent cleaning while eliminating an afterimage, by performing AC destaticization before and after cleaning and by setting the quantity of destaticization after the cleaning less than that before the cleaning. CONSTITUTION:After a toner image is transferred from a photoreceptor 3, destaticization (discharging current IAC=240muA and AC discharging current component IDC=110muA) 11 before cleaning is performed and then destaticization after the cleaning is performed by a destaticizer 13.
