CONSTITUTION:A microorganism electrode 11 consists of a bacteriim laye 1 of microorganism, supporter 2, covering the bacterium layer 1 and supporting bacterium microorganism, a gas permeable film 3, a diaphragm 4 of an oxygen electrode, a platinum cathode 5, an aluminum anode 6, a potassium chloride electrolytic liquid 7 and the like. A microorganism bacterium is what is called a nitrification bacillus, and is nitric acid preparing bacterium, e.g., nitrobacter agiles ATCC 14123, which oxidizes nitrous acid. The way to measure nitrous acid by means of the electrode is that a pH of liquid to be measured is set below 5.0, and concentration of dissolved oxygen is set into a saturation or a state near a saturation by blowing oxygen or air.
