Abstract

PURPOSE: To make collected dust harmless, to reduce its volume and to make the dust resourceful, by granulating or forming the collected dust, converting the collected dust, converting the collected dust into molten slag in an electric furnace, and catching voltile matters from the furnace with a dust catcher.
CONSTITUTION: Dust in exhaust gas formed by incineration of general and industrial waste matters is caught with a dust catcher 1, and the clarified exhaust gas is discharged from a stack 3 by an induction fan 2. The collected dust (a) caught with the dust catcher 1 is humidified and granulated into particles having a proper size by a humidifying granulator 4. The obtained granules (a') are charged into an electric resistance melting furnace 5 and melted. By this treatment, a metal part and molten slag are formed from the granules (a'). Thus the collected dust is made harmless, reduced in its volume and changed into a useful resource. On the other hand, volatile matters in the granules (a') are induced outside the furnace in company with gases generated in the furnace, and recollected with a volatile matter dust catcher 12. The recollected volatile matters are made harmless, reduced in their volume and effectively reused as roadbed material or the like by a cement caking device 13 or the like.
