Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable complete decomposition of dioxine, by a method wherein, a dioxine-containing ash discharged through incineration of a solid waste is fused. CONSTITUTION:After solid waste is incinerated by an incinerator 1 and exhaust gas therefrom passes through the cooling tower of a boiler 2, dust collection processing is applied on the exhaust gas by means of an electric precipitstor EP3. Incineration ash, ash content, e.g. EP ash, discharged from the incinerator 1, a boiler 2, and the electric precipitstor 3 is sent to a melting furnace 4 and fused therein. The content PCDD of dioxine is 0.9-260ppb in incineration ash and 10-2700ppb in EP ash from the electric precipitstor. As a result of the fusion, dioxine in the ash content is practically completely decomposed, and heavy metal salts in the ash content is discharged in a state to be dischargeable as molten slag from the melting furnace 4.
