NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formulaI(R1 is H, lower alkyl, or 1W4C hydrosulfoalkyl; R2 is 1W4C hydroxysulfoalkyl; R3 is H, lower one space only alkoxy, OH, lower alkyl; R4 is H, lower alkoxy, lower alkyl) and its salt.
EXAMPLE: N-Ethyl-N-(2-hydroxy-3) sulfopropyl-3-methylaniline sodium salt.
USE: A reagent for determining hydrogen peroxide. Useful as a substance to form a dyestuff for determining hydrogen peroxide, in which a peroxidase or a substance having the same action as that of it participates. This derivative is oxidized and con densed with a color producing agent, e.g., 4-aminoantipyrine, etc. to give stable measured values, and a solution of a reagent is prepared very simple.
PROCESS: For example, a compound shown by the formula II is reacted with sodium 2-chloro-1-hydroxyethanesulfonate, etc., to give a compound shown by the formula I.
