Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress evaporation of Zn to prevent the occurrence of holding corrosion in a tube by performing a vacuum soldering on the core section while applying a cover plate to the opening of the tube, when th tube of a heat exchanger is manufactured from an Al alloy containing Zn.
CONSTITUTION: An Al alloy made soldering material is clad to the outside of a flattened tube 1 made of an Al alloy containing 0.51% Zn, and the end of the tube 1 is inserted into each hole 3 of an Al alloy made header plate 2. Then, a fin 4 made of Al alloy is bent in zigzag-form and put between each tube, and thus, the core section 5 of a heat exchanger is formed. After a cover plate 6 is applied to the opening of the tube 1 projected from the hole 3 of the header plater 2, a vacuum soldering is performed for about three minutes under a condition of 10-5mmHg vacuum and 620°C temperature. After the soldering is completed, the cover plate 6 is removed and a soldered core section is manufactured. Since the Zn does not discharged to the outside through evaporation, the occurrence of holing corrosion due to insufficient Zn is prevented.
