Abstract

Parts are subjected to the action of an organic flux containing metallic fluoborate as well as diethylenetriamine and diethanolamine. The flux is applied at least in the areas to be brazed and these areas are heated to the melting temperature of a soft soldering or brazing alloy coated on one of the parts. The metallic fluoborate is reduced to deposit the metal on the aluminium or aluminium alloy part. The method is applied to manufacture of a heat-exchanger with tubes (1), tube-plates (2) and headers (4) of copper or ferrous alloys e.g. stainless steel, and strips or fins (8) of various aluminium alloys. <IMAGE>
